Lardero: Local Cuisine

Lardero offers a delicious taste of traditional Riojan cuisine, heavily influenced by local agricultural products and its proximity to some of the best vineyards in Spain. One of the most iconic dishes is “patatas a la riojana,” a hearty stew made from potatoes, chorizo, and peppers. This comforting dish is a must-try for any visitor. Lamb and pork dishes are also popular, often cooked in wood-fired ovens to give them a distinctive flavor.

Of course, no visit to Lardero is complete without sampling the local wines. The town is located in the heart of the Rioja wine region, so visitors have the opportunity to enjoy some of the finest wines in Spain. Red wines, particularly those made from Tempranillo grapes, are the stars of the region, but there are also excellent white and rosé wines to enjoy.

Several restaurants and tapas bars in Lardero and nearby Logroño offer a chance to indulge in the local culinary scene. Calle Laurel in Logroño is especially famous for its variety of tapas, or “pinchos,” and is just a short drive away from Lardero.
