Felanitx is located in the southeastern part of Mallorca, approximately 48 kilometers from the island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca. The town sits in a picturesque inland area, surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and almond groves. To the east, the town is close to some of the island’s most stunning beaches, such as those found in Cala d’Or, making it an excellent base for both inland and coastal exploration.
The town is nestled near the foothills of Puig de Sant Salvador, a 510-meter-high mountain that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails leading to the summit, where they can explore the famous Sanctuary of Sant Salvador and take in panoramic views of the island. Its central location on the island provides easy access to both the mountainous regions of Mallorca, like the Serra de Tramuntana, and the Mediterranean coast, offering a variety of outdoor activities and landscapes.
Felanitx enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters. The best time to visit is during the spring (April to June) or fall (September to November), when temperatures are pleasant, and the countryside is lush with greenery. Summer is also a popular time for beachgoers, but the heat can be intense, reaching up to 30°C (86°F) or higher.
