Los Llanos de Aridane: Geographical Location and Climate

Los Llanos de Aridane is situated on the island of La Palma, part of the Canary Islands archipelago, which is located in the Atlantic Ocean off the northwest coast of Africa. The city itself is positioned inland but is only a short drive from some of La Palma’s best beaches, such as Playa de Puerto Naos and Playa de Charco Verde. It is nestled at the foot of the Cumbre Vieja, a volcanic mountain range that adds both beauty and adventure to the landscape, offering panoramic views and hiking opportunities.

The climate in Los Llanos de Aridane is subtropical, with mild temperatures year-round. The weather is generally warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging between 18°C and 25°C. Thanks to the island’s geography, the western coast where the city is located often enjoys more sunshine than other parts of La Palma, making it a perfect destination for sun-seekers. The best time to visit is between April and November, although the city remains pleasant even during the cooler months.

Despite its inland position, Los Llanos de Aridane is close to the coast and some of the island’s most famous natural parks, such as Caldera de Taburiente National Park, known for its lush forests, deep ravines, and dramatic volcanic landscape. This combination of proximity to both the ocean and mountains offers visitors and event organizers a wealth of options for outdoor excursions.
