Ribadeo: Population and Demographics

Ribadeo has a population of around 10,000 residents, though this number increases significantly during the summer months as tourists flock to the area. The town has a relatively aging population, as is common in rural parts of Spain, but it also sees a steady influx of younger visitors, particularly from other parts of Spain and Europe.

The majority of Ribadeo’s residents are native Galicians, and Galician is widely spoken alongside Spanish. The town’s close proximity to Asturias also means that some residents may speak the Astur-Leonese dialect, adding to the linguistic diversity of the region.
